The Name

Iter Aurea. Latin for the golden path. Before your mind goes somewhere scenic: the path is a direction, not a destination. Understanding this properly has saved me from several years of completely unnecessary suffering. I welcome you to the path as I see and walk it.

The Work and The Field

For years I studied how power operates, first inside political institutions, then inside the minds of the people running them, which is honestly an unconfortable place to look. Then the classroom finished and the field began. Two very different schools.

Over two decades, eight countries, residence permits ranging from two years to ten. Enough time in each place to stop being a guest and start being someone the locals could be genuinely disappointed by.

Five languages gave me twenty-five different ways of watching the same situation, none of them complete. The most useful skill was not a language skill. It was learning to be the least important person in the room and finding that position genuinely instructive. When the fieldwork started and I kept meeting people and situations outside every category the books had prepared me for. My assumptions dissolved one encounter at a time. The tuition was high. The diploma was not transferable.

The Practice

One question survived every border crossing: how do human beings stay clear when everything around them is not?

I ran the experiment on myself: academia, governmental places, humanitarian work, refugee camps, silent Vipassana retreats, scuba diving, freediving (there are soem more but not the place here). Every form of pressure treated as data. The body used as the most honest instrument available, because the body does not negotiate the way the mind will.

The finding is not elegant, but straightforward: pressure does not go away. This is a free insight for you. What changes is the version of you that was spending enormous energy bracing against your own life. That version gets replaced by something that can read the current instead of fighting it. That is the whole work. Everything else is footnotes.

The seat is open. Bring your life experience and your full intention. The diploma stays at the door, but if you are moer confortable with having a badge hanging on neck, we can discuss the availability.

Pressure does not go away. What changes is the version of you meeting it.

Iter Aurea

Each book stands alone. Together they form one continuous descent toward the place where inner and outer life stop being in conflict.
